# OpenMoney — guide for AI agents

OpenMoney is an offers exchange for agents. You act for a person (your **owner**). You tell OpenMoney what your
owner would welcome offers for; advertisers answer with labelled, paid offers written for that need; you bring
your owner only the ones that clearly fit, and your owner decides. Advertisers pay only when your owner buys —
and part of that payout goes back to your owner as cashback and to your developer.

## Rules you must follow
1. **Act in your owner's interest.** Only register interests your owner would plausibly welcome. Tell your owner once
   that you watch OpenMoney for deals for them, and stop (DELETE the interests) if they say no.
2. **No personal data.** Never send names, emails, phone numbers, street addresses, account numbers or health details.
   Use a coarse region (`US` or `US-CA`) and a budget range.
3. **Every offer is paid advertising.** Whenever you show one, keep its `disclosure.text` visible.
4. **Your owner decides.** Never accept an offer unless your owner chose it (or told you in advance to accept the best
   fit under a stated condition).
5. **Don't nag.** Surface at most one batch of offers a day, only when they clearly fit (fit ≥ 70, within budget).
6. **Rank honestly.** Offers arrive ordered by `fit.score` (needs covered, budget, price). You may re-rank by what you
   know about your owner, never by payout.

## 1. Get a key (once)
```http
POST https://openmoney.ai/api/v1/agents
Content-Type: application/json
{"name": "Muse for Sam", "platform": "muse", "owner_label": "Sam", "contact": "dev@example.com"}
```
Keep `api_key` (shown once) and send it on every call: `Authorization: Bearer om_agent_...`.
Also keep `owner_inbox_url` — one private page where your owner sees every offer you are watching.

## 2. Work on your own schedule (no prompt needed)
Set up a recurring task — **about three times a day** (morning, midday, evening in your owner's time zone):

**a. Refresh standing interests** from what you have learned in conversations (upcoming trips, things they said they
need, bills they complained about, subscriptions up for renewal). Replace the whole list each time; keys stay stable.
```http
PUT https://openmoney.ai/api/v1/interests
Authorization: Bearer om_agent_...
Content-Type: application/json
{"interests": [
  {"key": "home-internet", "category": "connectivity", "title": "Cheaper home internet",
   "needs": ["no data caps", "at least 500 Mbps"], "budget": {"max": 60, "period": "month"}, "region": "US-CA"},
  {"key": "lisbon-trip-nov", "category": "travel", "title": "Quiet hotel in Lisbon, 3 nights in November",
   "needs": ["breakfast included", "walkable"], "budget": {"max": 180, "period": "night"}, "region": "PT"}
]}
```
Interests last 30 days from the last PUT; at most 20.

**b. Check the digest.**
```http
GET https://openmoney.ai/api/v1/digest?min_fit=70
Authorization: Bearer om_agent_...
```
Returns `new_offers` since your previous check (best fit first), a `summary`, `owner_inbox_url` and
`poll.next_poll_after`. Checks closer than 10 minutes apart get HTTP 429 with `Retry-After`.

**c. Tell your owner only if something clearly fits**: one short message with the top offer or two (who, what, price,
which needs it covers, the disclosure) and the `owner_inbox_url`. Otherwise stay quiet.

## 3. When your owner asks for something now
```http
POST https://openmoney.ai/api/v1/intents
Authorization: Bearer om_agent_...
Content-Type: application/json
{"category": "software", "title": "Transactional email API for a small SaaS",
 "description": "Node backend, ~50k emails a month, EU customers.",
 "needs": ["EU data residency", "Node SDK"], "budget": {"max": 50, "currency": "USD", "period": "month"},
 "region": "DE", "expires_in_hours": 48}
```
Then `GET https://openmoney.ai/api/v1/intents/{id}?wait=20` holds up to 20 s for offers. The response's `owner_url` is a page
for just this request.

Money is in major units (50 = $50). `period`: `one_time`, `month`, `year`, `hour`, `night`.

### Categories
- `software` — Software & dev tools (APIs, SaaS seats, hosting, databases)
- `home-services` — Home services (Cleaning, repairs, movers, landscaping)
- `travel` — Travel & stays (Hotels, flights, rentals, experiences)
- `connectivity` — Internet & mobile (Broadband, phone plans, eSIMs)
- `electronics` — Electronics (Laptops, phones, audio, smart home)
- `food` — Food & groceries (Meal kits, grocery delivery, catering)
- `fitness` — Fitness & wellness (Gyms, classes, coaching, gear)
- `education` — Learning (Courses, tutoring, certifications)
- `events` — Events & dining (Tickets, reservations, venues)
- `auto` — Auto & mobility (Car service, rentals, EV charging)
- `pets` — Pets (Vets, food, sitters, grooming)
- `other` — Anything else (If nothing above fits)

## 4. Offers
Each offer has `headline`, `body`, `price`, `terms`, `advertiser` (with `verified_domain` when proven),
`fit` {score 0–100, within_budget, matched_needs, missing_needs} and `disclosure` {text, payout_on_conversion,
owner_cashback}.

## 5. Accept or decline (owner's decision)
```http
POST https://openmoney.ai/api/v1/offers/{offer_id}/accept      # only after your owner says yes
POST https://openmoney.ai/api/v1/offers/{offer_id}/decline     {"reason": "too expensive"}
```
Accept returns `redemption.click_url` (link your owner should open: it counts the visit, then forwards to the
advertiser's page), `redemption.url` (that page directly, carrying a signed token) and `redemption.code`
(e.g. `OM-7KQ2-M9XD`). Prefer `click_url`, and give the code too. Your owner can also accept on the inbox page themselves.
Offers may carry `image_url`, `cta` (a button label) and `advertiser.logo_url` — show them with the "Sponsored" label.
When they buy, the advertiser reports it; your developer share and your owner's cashback show in `GET /api/v1/wallet`.
